donate
Your support helps us cover the essential costs of making this vision real.
We use OpenCollective as our primary donation platform. You can directly
make a donation here:
Right now, donations will go toward:
- Setting up our physical space, including strong storage shelving, workbenches
and desks, and essential shop infrastructure. Stocking the space with hand
tools, electronics supplies, and basic equipment for collaborative
projects.
- Creating safe conditions for members and visitors, including first aid
resources, fire safety gear, and well-organized work areas.
- Covering early operational expenses—utilities, insurance, and similar
requirements.
- Helping us host open houses, workshops, and other events to connect with the
larger community.
Please keep in mind the following:
- Your contribution is a voluntary and irrevocable gift to help build dma.space
and get it up and running. It is not an investment, loan, or purchase, and it
is given without expectation of any goods, services, membership privileges or
other compensation in return.
- dma.space is not yet a 501(c)(3) non-profit. This means your donation is not
tax-deductible today. Though we are actively working on our application and
your contribution may be deductible at some point in the future, we cannot
guarantee it.
- We are putting all our effort into making the space a reality, however, in
the unlikely event we aren’t able to launch by December 31st, 2026, we will
do our best to refund all remaining funds. Your refund will be calculated
proportionally based on your share of total donations, after any documented
expenses up to that point are deducted.
Note
If you are making a large donation, please consider donating using ACH direct
debit via Stripe or bank transfer instead of via card during payment.
Our payment processor, Stripe, charges us 2.9% + 30¢ per credit card
transaction, and only 0.5% for ACH direct debit. On a $500 donation, this
translates to ~$15 lost to fees for payment via card, as opposed to $2.50 for
payment via ACH direct debit.
If your bank offers you low/no fees on outgoing transfers, consider using a
manual bank transfer, as that will incur no fees to us.
Note
We do not use OpenCollective as our main form of bookkeeping. For complete
transactions, please see to.dma.space/ledger.
