hey y'all. at around 1:30PM today we got another noise complaint from the landlord. for now, the AV system is disabled until we resolve this better.

as a friendly reminder: please, please keep the volume low during working hours. this is a shared building, there are other tenants next to us who could be in meetings or need quiet times for working. be mindful of this!

notice from Hunters Capital (our property management company):

As you may have noticed, there is currently a **road closure near 12th Avenue & Pike Street** that significantly limits pedestrian / vehicle access through the neighborhood. This closure is expected to remain in place for a minimum of 6 weeks and is already creating challenges for residents, visitors, and particularly the businesses located along and around these streets.
We are gathering feedback from the community about how neighbors were informed by the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) about this closure before it took effect.
All of Pike/Pine is impacted by this 6 week closure and we would appreciate hearing from YOU.  
The information and signatures we collect will be presented to the City of Seattle, SDOT, and the Mayor’s Office to advocate for better communication and community outreach surrounding major road closures. When a closure of this scale is expected to impact a neighborhood for six weeks or longer, we believe residents and businesses deserve clear, timely, and accessible notice.
How to participate:

hi dma membership!

im looking to host a community member meeting to discuss governance, the current state of the space, and pressure points within the next couple weeks. the meeting on friday didnt end up being very productive, so im going to be heading the meeting myself.

ive planned this to be on 8/31/26, at 7:30 PM. i will be coming from an appointment so i may be a little late, however i will have notes and such pre planned.

Good morning, Ballou Wright Tenants,

The City of Seattle and SDOT have updated their schedule for the sidewalk repairs in front of the building. Tomorrow at 8:00 AM, they will be removing the sidewalk, then placing a temporary path for you all to access the front door, after they are done. During the demolition, the front door will be inaccessible from 8:00 Am to Noon. 

They will be back on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to Noon to pour the new sidewalk. During this time, they will pour the concrete, then install a temporary path to enter and exit the building from the front door. 

During the mornings for the next two days, please have you and your staff enter and exit through the alley door in which you use to take out trash. If you do not have this key, or would like additional copies for your staff, please let me know ASAP and I will bring them over today.

hi everyone! we've decided to open announcements up to all members! we want to encourage everyone to post about whatever they want to show off to others at the space, or announce any major changes you've done at the space.

what to post:

• a project you've done for the space
• some major cleanup you did at the space that you want brownie points for (please do this!!)
• event coordinating, e.g. announcing your event on a particular date
• general announcements that may affect members of the space (e.g. smog warnings, street maintenance, ...)

what not to post:

• things unrelated to our space or outside the space
• active chatters (keep them within replies or ideally in #.offtopic)

what to keep in mind:

• the contents here are considered public and will be posted to the website. if you're posting anything sensitive, please keep this in mind!
• keep all discussions related to that announcement in its thread. these messages aren't published to the website (even though they're still considered public).
• we will be moderating this channel as well. please use your best judgment before posting! if you have to think too hard about whether you want to post, consider asking other members about how they feel first.
